Located in OKC, is a small lake to ride around on. This trail system is in the making but does have a few miles. You are not able to ride all the way around this lake (yet) but there looks to be about 7 miles so far of the little loops that have been ridden and gps tracked.
I personally have not ridden here yet but look forward to it. It is a barefoot friendly, sandy place as well. You can google map search the parking area- "Lake Draper Recreation area #1" and it will put it up as "Lake Stanley Draper Park Recreation Area #1 and #2". Area #1 is where we park as equestrians.
This is concrete parking lot, please also bring a manure fork with you to remove any manure dropped on parking lot. The new trail head is marked in white, you cannot miss it. The mounting stones are still there as well for use. DO NOT use the mowed hill on pt 10 rd!!! DO NOT get on the grass either please. As the ambassadors are presenting to the city to farther this place's progression as a better trail system for us to use, they need everyone to respect it.
The map provided on my website, I received off of the facebook group "Friends of Lake Stanley Draper Equestrian Trails". This map is not official but it gives you an idea of what to follow. There are updates and changes constantly on the facebook group. I highly recommend to follow it so you don't miss any of the information. Any update from Vicki Fraser is one to read.
I hope everyone can enjoy this place and also help pitch in on either volunteering on future work days or whatever the case may be so we can further the places to ride here in oklahoma!
Happy Trails!!
