Cherokee WMA- Zeb Oklahoma

  • Location

    • On Oklahoma SH62 travel east from Fort Gibson ten miles to the Finish Line gas station at the intersection of South 460 Rd. Turn south and stay on 460 Rd for two miles.

      • It is paved the entire way but is a curvy two-lane road. You will run into the Zeb entrance, clearly marked with Okla Dept of Wildlife brown and yellow signs. The main road is Burnt Cabin Road. It is not paved, but some portions have been chatted.

  • State wildlife management area, 32,000 acres of diverse woodlands, accessible to horse trailers through the Zeb entrance. The main road through the area, Burnt Cabin Road, is seven miles from Zeb to Qualls.

    • You can park and ride from the Zeb entrance but the better riding areas are about 3-4 miles in. There is a marked public hunting camp that is best for larger rigs.

  • All camping is primitive.

  • Cherokee WMA is closed from October 1-January 31 and in April for hunting.

  • The road in is rough in places–drive slowly. Do not get off the main road with your rig, as there is no place to turn around and there are often boggy spots on the side roads.

I have placed a map that I found online on my "Maps" tab. There was not much information that I could find on this place than on their main website. I am unsure if this is a barefoot friendly place or if you need shoes. I have not ever ridden here and do not know of anyone personally that has.
