IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW!!!

ON THE MAP- I did get lost a couple of times on the trail due to the markings on the trail. While the place is greatly marked so you know you are on A TRAIL, when coming to a fork, there were several times I was not sure if I were to be going farther out or back to camp. I do feel like the markers they have need to have the number on them so you know what trail you actually are on. Some markers have it some do not. At one of the forks we also had no clue where the horse trail continued to because there would be both yellow and purple markings. We ended up getting off on a hiking trail twice, you could see where other hoof tracks were going the same way too so we were not the only ones who thought that was the correct way. At 2 and A or I guess 2A, was where we had the most problem. It broke off to a campground in the woods for hikers and the horse trail marker was about 10 yards or so off in the trees straight ahead but no arrow directing that was the way to go at the fork that split off in 4 different directions.

ROCKS FOR DAYSSSSS- I have ridden some rocky places before... and my horses are pretty sure footed as well. We had came to a creek and going down was a slate rock at an angle and coming back up was another slate rock. My horse slipped and went all the way down. So be super careful. She does not rush going down things like that and did all she could to not fall... dang slick horse shoes got her that day.

TIME...WOW- Because of the rocks, and granted my mare while surefooted, she is still a baby, she is only 5. So she is still learning how to walk on the real thick terrain as such, but it took us 3 hours to ride 6 miles, when typically at places like Robber's Cave or Heaven's Gate, I can ride 11-15 miles in as little as 5 hours. So yea.. again ROCKS FOR DAYS LOL
