I have ridden here a lot and a lot of things have changed. Used to, there were no rules on throwing a picket line, in fact that was the only way. They now have pens and they took all the patient poles out so that really sucks because those of us who bring more than one horse have no where to put them. You are allowed to make your own pens but I don’t see the point in that when the camp ground is so small… so idk it’s kind of is what it is with all of that but I wish they would put patient poles back in the ground. As far as trails go… miles and miles and miles of trails to ride. They are never ending and there are some places you can trot and lope but for the most part, rocky but not unbearable like Arrowhead State Park.

I do believe that they have upgraded pens to pipe pens now instead of panels but it has been 2 years since I have been.

The picture of the campground, the red is more spots and the rest of the road ideally, where the trees cover.

There is a pdf version of the map on my "maps" tab on the main menu- If you save/screen shot the picture in the gallery, i cannot promise the greatest resolution.

Equine Campground Key: as of 7/10/24

Dark Purple= are big rig friendly on A side of campground.

Pink= moderate size with a few trees on A side

Blue= Tricky to get into with large rig but is doable if you are good at backing your rig. a 40fter will fit but not easily. Trees in the way on A side

Lime green = very short site- like 2 horse bumper pull with truck unhooked small on A side.

Red= sites 29-39 NO PENS- picket poles only

Dark green= all moderate sized to big rig friendly on B side.

*Sites 17 and 18 at one point were handicap sites. I believe they still are.

Not shown on their map, the Red arrow, is another trail head that is located across the road. This trail, when ridden along the road going North, will take you to the cave the short way. It is about a 7 mile ride round trip.
