Primitive sites Equestrian Area-

• Due to popular demand, we have opened our Equestrian area to overnight stays, starting 14 October 2022:

• We marked 11 primitive back-in sites for vehicles and campers. We have a water source nearby and a Porta-potty for your convenience.

• All reservations are following the regular rules of Oklahoma State Parks. One tag is included in the reservation, all others follow the Parking Pass Program of Oklahoma State Parks. You may find more info at travelok.com/texoma

• All Equestrian area reservations must be made at the office, they cannot be made online!!!

• Office is open 9AM and 5PM daily. Phone# 580-564-2566.

• The area is gated, if no reservations in the area, gates will be opened and closed as usual.

Summer:

• Open 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM

Winter

• 7:30 AM to 5 PM

Transition times Spring and Autumn:

• 7:30AM to Sunset

We do have some paddocks in the area. They are not assigned to any primitive site (First come first serve); they are expected to be kept clean and without damage. We do allow electric fencing or other similar means to contain horses safely, near your primitive site, if no paddock is available.

All manure and other waste is to be placed in the dumpster, to minimize parasites and disease transmission.

Coggins test will be required and checked by park personnel. Please have it available upon request.
